I picked up Debbie Ford’s 21 Day Spiritual Cleanse Thursday at the book store and just today made time to look at it. I’m looking for the “perfect” 21 days to do it and thinking maybe the 21 days before my birthday would be a good gesture. Thanksgiving will be in there, and fall has always been an introspective time for me.
Today I was shopping at Joann’s for some glue and came out with a few more things than I planned. I saw some wooden Christmas ornaments I really liked and decided to paint a set for each of my boys and one for me – just 5 each. When I was in college I had very little money and I found a set of “paint your own” wooden ornaments. I still have them and put them on the tree every year. I’d like for the boys to have ornaments that mean something to them.
Today I also downloaded a “How to make money at Christmas with Squidoo” report, thinking I would gear up and make some extra cash with the holiday season. But as I was shopping and saw the ornaments I decided that I am going to spend this fall and holiday season as if it were going to be my last. And if it was my last, I would not regret spending it creating a great wedding present for my friend’s daughter, some Advent calendars for my boys and some Christmas ornaments they could remember as the ones Mom painted just for them.
So, this fall, instead of doing keyword research and building websites, I’m going to be making advent calendars, painting Christmas ornaments, and focusing on my health so I can be in good enough shape to take my son on the trip to Walt Disney World we are planning for next spring break or summer. That will be a fall I could look back on if it was my last and I would consider it well spent.
